As told by an old woman who lived just below the forest of Verde, Duero, Bohol. She was known as Oyang Pinanda, meaning Great Grandma Penanda.

I think it is somewhere i would want to visit. I've never been there. I am 1/2 phillipino and haven't had my mother(thats where the phillipino influence would come from) in my life but am interested to learn about it. Enjoyed the story. |

My father is from Bohol. I was born and raised in Manila. But the very first time i set foot on Bohol, I fell in love with it. New comers have this sense of joy that they would want to be there, live there forever. Correct me if I'm wrong but is Ms. Maria Pajo the mother of Msgr. Pajo? If she is so it was nice to know coz she's a family friend, a neighbor of my Lola Sepa Namocatcat. This story is new to me. I've heard about myths on how each town of Bohol has come to be and indeed a woman is involved. Hmmmm! Maribojoc - which was said to be derived from Maria nga taas ug bohok, Baclayon, the place where people long before can only reach through walking "baclay", Lila the place where townfolks sang " Lilili Lalala" in happy tunes for the visiting of this woman of wonder, etc. It connotes how the Bol-anon people gives respect and high accolade to women. Hope someday these "alamats" would be published and enjoyed by all. |
