Hello dear friends and Jeroen!

On behalf of the Loboc Children's Choir, we would like to thank for all your appreciative and wonderful comments. We are very happy to know we have touched a lot of hearts and minds.

Good news. The tour has helped jumpstart a project in Loboc, and that is the TUBURAN Center for Living Traditions. We opened the only community based music museum in the Philippines , with an exhibit on the rich musical legacy of Loboc and Bohol.

Another good news. The choir has not stopped from working and sharing. Mam Alma Taldo has recruited new children to join the choir because some had to leave. They have chaged voices na. And its so exciting how this new group will develop!

Another another good news. The choir is invited to the INTERNATIONAL WORLD VISION CHILDREN'S CHOIR FESTIVAL in Korea!!! From July 18 to 22, we will perform together with 4 other international children's choirs. All expenses paid for by the organizers!!!!

So you see with all our and your prayers and support and encouragement, things will develop for the choir on the palm of the Almighty.

Thanks again and see you in Bohol!!!!!

Gardy Labad, Damaris Taldo

Great news Gardy! We hope to see you again early next year, when we come to Bohol again.--Jeroen.

It was a great honor to hear the awards reaped by the Loboc Childrens Choir when they went to Europe late part of last year. It was sad on my part as an origin of Bohol (Luminarias - Loon and Gaviola - Ubay) not to hear them sing in person here in the eternal city of Rome. There are a lots of bisaya (mindanao & visayas) kababayans who did not know of the special event/visit of the famous choir. Like Fr. Jonas Mejiares (musician) and lots of priests, seminaristas and nuns do come from bohol. Kahit saan, a boholano or kaliwat will always be proud of his heritage. More Power!

That was true that President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo rewards One million Pesos (P1M) for the victory of the Loboc Children Choir in an International European Song Contest in Barcelona, Spain last September 2003 but the one million pesos was not intended for the LCC but for the Governor in Bohol... SHAME.

How we tried to help LCC organizing concerts here in Switzerland just to help them for the ongoing projects in Loboc but again SHAME.. to the GOVERNOR

I will get in touch with the director of the Loboc Children's Choir to clarify on these issues. Unfortunately, we often have to live with the realities of Philippine politics and the, to say the least, unclear ways in which money issues are handled.

We all worked hard to get the LCC in Europe, not the least the children of the LCC itself, and it was a success to which, of course, a lot of people now want to have their names attached, and harvest part of the rewards... I think the best strategy is to continue working on things that are good for the people of Bohol, don't get discouraged by an occasional setback, ignore the "me too" mentality, and expose those cases where things really cross the moral borders of appropriateness.--Jeroen.
