Yesterday, the Filipino parish here in Bonn also hosted a Filipino singing group, Musicapella, from Imus Cavite, who passed by here, fresh from their choral competition winnings in Poland.

While perfection is an ideal which by its definition should be unachievable; these group seems to have gotten it. or at least are nearest to it...of course they got great harmony...superb repertoire...and overwhelming charm..but i guess two of the things that really makes them great and perfect are the facts that 1. they are not commercial....and more importantly 2.. they really feel and enjoy what they are doing...they love their songs and their singing! it shows in their moves...simple yet elegant...in their facial and bodily expressions which is a paragon of successful expressive minimalism...:)
After two songs....a lot of people there were misty eyed.....including the older and the more skeptical and cynical creatures..:) and when they sang when u wish upon a star...boy...it was sublime..divine..splendid! am sure more than a few tears of joy and pleasure were shed on how these "promdi" group is showing to the whole world how to perform. individually..and as a group..
Am proud to be a Boholano indeed, and bask on some reflected glories of this wonderful bunch..and so were the others who were priviliged to be accorded such an intimate performance..proud to be filipinos...proud to be human beings...proud that amidst all these political bickerings...economic uncertainties...juetengs..and the vagaries of phil. life...SOME GEMS DO TRULY EXIST. Indeed Maam Taldo is right.. " as long the the children still sings, therre is hope."
The group is indeed not only Loboc or Bohol or the Philippines' treasure; it is a treasure for the whole of humanity.....

On behalf of the Loboc Children's Choir, we would like to thank for all your appreciative and wonderful comments. We are very happy to know we have touched a lot of hearts and minds.
Good news. The tour has helped jumpstart a project in Loboc, and that is the TUBURAN Center for Living Traditions. We opened the only community based music museum in the Philippines , with an exhibit on the rich musical legacy of Loboc and Bohol.
Another good news. The choir has not stopped from working and sharing. Mam Alma Taldo has recruited new children to join the choir because some had to leave. They have chaged voices na. And its so exciting how this new group will develop!
Another another good news. The choir is invited to the INTERNATIONAL WORLD VISION CHILDREN'S CHOIR FESTIVAL in Korea!!!From July 18 to 22, we will perform together with 4 other international children's choirs. All expenses paid for by the organizers!!!!
So you see with all our and your prayers and support and encouragement, things will develop for the choir on the palm of the Almighty.

..I just found this web and it's been great to hear on the news. It's my pride to know that music has been and still been a notable identity to the Bisayans and to the Filipinos in whole.
