True: Treat your momma right!

Tagbilaran, Saturday, 10 May 2008

Wake uppers:

  • Food for the soul: Sometimes we think we have so little: little blessings, little work, little salary, little allowance… But if we’ll start to appreciate little things in life, we will find out that we have so much of family and friends, so much of love, so much of trust, and so much of God’s love.
  • Could it be true that these newly breed of beauty queens who won the recently Miss Tagbilaran 2008 are said to be “misbehavin?” According to True unimpeachable Very Reliable Source (VRS), the Miss Tagbilaran 2008 and the runners up welcomed the Chinese officials for the Bohol-Jiangxi Friendship Day at the airport wearing “sexy” dress and had no sashes identifying them they are beauty queens. Some of our local officials were dismayed upon seeing these girls. “When we’re in China, the Chinese beauty queens welcomed us with their colorful traditional dresses. Chinese women are so sensitive,” a councilor said.
  • Then, during the inauguration of the Loboc riverbank lights project (attended by Philippine special envoy to China Carlos Chan of Liwayway products, Jiangxi and Bohol officials), a composer was wearing a t-shirt during an intermission number. “We know how talented he is, we don’t question it… but we hope next time he would be wearing descent attire since he’s performing in front of the big officials,” VRS said.
  • Yesterday was the live PBA games held in Calape town. It is one of the first of the nine out-of-town PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) games. The first was ushered in the Smart Fiesta Cup in Panabo, Davao del Norte. Purefoods and Alaska teams arrived last Friday. Msgr Auza is 1st Filipino priest in UN named Vatican envoy to Haiti

Pope Benedict XVI has named yet another Filipino priest, this time one based in the United Nations, to be an apostolic nuncio to Haiti.

The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines disclosed Friday night that Msgr. Bernardito Auza was elevated to the dignity of archbishop with his appointment.

Auza is First Counsellor of the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations in New York.

In a statement on its website, the CBCP said Auza completed his theological studies at the Pontifical University of Sto. Tomas Central Seminary, and was ordained priest in 1985.

CBCP secretary general Msgr. Juanito Figura expressed his elation at the choice, saying Auza deserves the assignment.

"I believe he is well prepared for that, considering that his experience in the diplomatic service of the Church include stints in the Secretariat of State and in the United Nations," Figura said.

Auza and Figura were contemporaries during their theology years at UST seminary.

I know him as an intellectually capable priest. His being friendly and approachable is a plus factor in that ministry," Figura said.

A native of Talibon, Bohol, Auza was born in 1959 and attended his early seminary training at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Tagbilaran City.

He had also been designated Titular archbishop of Suacia.

The Vatican Diplomatic Corps is directly connected to the Secretariat State of the Vatican and considered the oldest diplomatic service in the world.

The apostolic nuncio has a rank of ambassador and serves as the diplomatic representative of the Holy See to countries where the Vatican has diplomatic relations.

Auza is the fourth Filipino appointed to the post by the Vatican.

The first Filipino to be named apostolic nuncio was Archbishop Osvaldo Padilla who was designated by Pope John II as nuncio to Panama in 1990. He is currently the apostolic nuncio to Korea.

His younger brother Archbishop Francisco Padilla, who is now the nuncio to Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands became the third Filipino nuncio appointed by the Vatican.

The second was Archbishop Adolfo Yllana from Naga City, currently the nuncio to Pakistan.

Treat your momma right! When you end up youtubing, you can watch Mr. T’s funny movie singing a song about moms. I don’t remember where I found it but it is truly awesome. This has been floating around the internet for a while now, but I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who haven't seen it and are, you know, disrespecting their mamas. If this is you, it's not your fault - if you haven't seen the video, how would you know not to?

Mr. T, treats his mother right in this rap performance from some unintentionally mesmerizing and ridiculous 1984 video, "Be Somebody or Be Somebody's Fool!" The clip, presented by IFILM, features fashion trend setter Monsieur T barking from his disturbing hot pants, "Remember when you put down one mother, you puttin' down mothers all over the world." And then he's killing us harshly with his song in a way only a mother could love.

Two youths are trying to cut each other down. It starts getting pretty ugly, when one of them invokes the others mother. Unlike the Wayans brothers, and their brand of YO' MAMA humor, MR.T doesn't go for that! He properly instructs the kids on the importance of respecting ones mother. They go away sufficiently calmed, and happy in their newly found fellowship.

If anyone EVER suspected MR.T of disregarding the Fourth Commandment "Thou Shalt Honor Thy Father and Mother", let this set the record straight! In a fit of inspiration, and to right the wrongs of the sparring youths, MR.T begins singing a song in honor of his own mother..An event that must truly be witnessed by everyone!

"Treat Your Mother Right", as recorded by Mr. T and the T-ettes and written by Ice-T. Here are the lyrics of the song:

Treat her right/Treat your mother right/Treat her right/Treat her right/Mother/There is no other/Like Mother/So treat Her right/Mother/I always Love Her/My Mother/So treat Her right, treat Her right/M is for the moan, and the miserable groan/from the pain that She felt when I was born/O is for the oven with it's burnin' heat/where She stood makin' sure I had something to eat/T is for the time that She stayed up at night/and took my temperature when I wasn't feelin' right//H is for the hard earned money She spent/to keep clothes on my back and try to pay da' rent/E is every wrinkle I put on Her face/and every worry that I caused when I stayed out late/The last letter R is that She taught me Respect/and for the room up in Heaven that I know She'll get//She's a Queen/Second to none/Take care of Mother/You only get one

We don’t always like to talk to our mothers. They say something and we grunt in reply.

They ask how our day went and we usually say, “okay.”

There are so many things left unsaid, how grateful we are for everything they’ve done for us.

Mother's Day is also the best reasons to treat your mother like a queen. Here’s a forwarded article written by MysLykeMeeh.

Mothers are special and unique. They are round the clock mom, 24 hours in service without existing benefits, no fat salaries and no great compensation. What they offer is more than what they can give. Devotion with love, dedication with care and loyalty with service are the things they put up into being a mom. How unique and sweet mothers are? Well, they have a right to celebrate their day, to honor their no bound and no limitation love towards their children.

There are many best reasons why you should treat your mother like a queen. Of course I will treat my mother always as a queen. Though I argue with her a lot, I always throw the dice on her side.

Few list of the best reasons why you should treat your mother like a queen:

1. "She's my mother". This sentence is already complete, the fact that she is your mother, why not treating her like a queen? She's the one who deliver you in this world, isn't it the best reason? Your mother is your mother and she is your queen.

2. Imagined yourself as an infant, a beautiful and too Little baby in her arms. She's the one who hold you and cuddle you in the comfort of her chest and arms when you are still young. She doesn't like it if something will bite you, that's why she did all the possible things to protect you from harm since you were young. Isn't it one best reason? Yes, it does. She deserves to be a queen after all wiping all your pees and poos.

3. Remember she'd accompany you when you went to the Kindergarten class, till grade schools, attending the meeting for you, preparing you breakfast and dinner. Packing you lunch and put you into bed. She did all that for you.

4. She's the one who treat you a birthday cake every year. She's the one who's holding the cake and let you blew it. She just always there with your side when you're still not capable enough to stand for yourself.

Doesn’t she deserve to be a queen? Our mother? Yes, she is. She's more than just a queen. She's always there every night to read you a stories when your little, she's always remind you to brush your teeth, she's remind you about your homework, your project, your friends and she's the one who did every chores to make your life easier. Isn't it wonderful? Our mother has this undying devotion for us just to make our life easier when we're young? But when we grew up, we resisted her wishes sometimes? Mothers deserve to be treated as the special person in one's life. She deserves to be a queen.
