Serenity and luxury share top billing at this 16 hectare development, 25 minutes from Tagbilaran Airport in Bohol. This exclusive hideaway is a knockout: guests are billeted at their own private single-detached villas that boast a luxurious whirlpool in an indoor garden setting as well as villas with its own private pool facing the crystal blue waters of the Mindanao Sea. That's saying a lot for a 100% Filipino-owned resort with an architectural design that is decidedly indigenous with a splash of modern amenities.

The name Eskaya refers to the only known indigenous people of Bohol. The resort is situated right in the middle of Panglao Island which is at the southernmost tip of Bohol. It is located halfway through Panglao along its coast with commanding views of the magnificent Mindanao Sea. The topography of the resort is varied with a gradual ascending cliff, flat land, a ravine, and caves. Down the beach is a long stretch of white, powdery sand up to five kilometers, 600 meters of which belongs to Eskaya.

The resort, which is set to open its doors to the public on May 6, 2007, is pretty much boutique style with an upscale touch of exclusivity. The thatched villas or "balai," were built with sturdy construction materials, emphasizing ample use of bamboo, cogon, and wood to complete its modern Filipino take - reminiscent of the famed Amanpulo Resort in Palawan (incidentally, both resorts were designed by Architect Bobby Manosa).

An infinity pool smacked right in the middle of the resort blends auspiciously with the sea at its finest. Eskaya's spacious Lantawan Restaurant offers breathtaking views while letting guests enjoy sumptuous meals as well as cocktail drinks. Dining can also be arranged right in front of the beach al fresco style.

Bohol is blessed with spectacular wonders that one would agree that at Eskaya, life's not only a beach, but more. After some lazing in the sand, guests can opt to choose a number of excursions such as a side trip to the famed Chocolate Hills or an unforgettable encounter with the endangered tarsier; or guests can go island hopping and play with dolphins or go whale-watching at Pamilacan Island.

To get there, one can take a short plane ride from Manila to Tagbilaran. A luxurious shuttle service is readily available, and guests are off to the resort in less than 25 minutes. All villas offers king sized beds with luxurious bed linens, outdoor bathroom with private landscaped garden setting, goose down pillows, complete amenity set, safety deposit box, mini bar, coffee and tea making facilities, a compendium, flat screen television sets with cable, DVD player as well as IPOD speakers.

Rene, you said 'Before Eskaya, this area called Sunrise Beach." 'Beside' means that the Sunrise Beach which is a public beach, is not Eskaya's. Then why you put a sign 'NO TRESPASSING PRIVATE PROPERTY' at the end of the road going to Sunrise Beach. The guard that you stationed there says that people are not allowed to pass through that public road anymore. Since when did Eskaya bought the beach, and since when the beach can be owned by a private company. I called the attention of your reception on this but no changes has been made. Don't be greedy Eskaya, this beach is still for the people.
