It's like the "Holiday Fruit Salad" in US countries, and marami narin akong books na nakitaan ng ganyang recipe with egg yolks.. Ang original is egg yolks, syrup of fruit cocktail & white sugar lang, instead of condensed milk. You will cook it for about 15 minutes on medium heat while stirring occasionally until it thickens. Try some para malaman nyo, it's more affordable than buying Condensed milk. It depends on you kung lalagyan mo pa ng Whipped cream or all-purpose cream.

Make your buko salad last longer you can wash the young coconut meat with clean water before shredding it. "an Egg yoke" must have give the salad a "yema" like after taste. Sounds really yummy, I must try it tomorrow. Looking for simple buko salad recipe for my b-day to treat my students and teach them about Filipino culture as well.

Hey, my mom once made a buko salad with eggyolks and it's the best salad I have ever tasted. So you guys, don't ever wonder what an eggyolk does for a good salad. Just try it!

I think you make a home made salad dressing for this buko salad. Not realy surprise, now a days people put cream cheese or sweet corn for this buko salad or fruit salad.

I would like to try your Buko Salad but I can't find the cream in Tarakan (Indonesia), can I make it without the cream or is there any substitute for the cream. Can I make it out of coffee mate's cream (powdered). Help. Thank you. Zeny

This is the Bohol's way of making Buko Salad. The Buko Salad i know of does not contain egg yolk. This is interesting to know.

This is not typical Boholano's way in making buko salad. This one of the way on how to make buko salad. You can also do it by just mixing the young coconut with condensed milk. With this recipe, the use of egg yolks is mix for making dressing.--Lyn

What is 'Nata de Coco' mean, is that a coconut milk?

It isn't. They are soft, jelly-like dices made from coconut, normally sold in glass or plastic pots under juice.--Jeroen.

I am really sure that a fruit salad doesn't need eggyolk. What's your purpose of adding eggyolk?

The purpose of egg yolk is for the salad dressing.--Rodelyn
