its a great thing that you have this website then indeed it is a great help in my part especially that i came from there and now i am in here as an OFW Worker in Qatar. Generally, my collegues here in the bank ask me where from the Philippines I am so I said it is where you can see one of the best wonders in the World that you can really appreciate with its natural beauty...THE LAND OF THE CHOCOLATE HILLS....which is basically known to different nationalities, although the fact that they knew it what country, they just wanted to know specifically where so i suggest this site of yours and seems that they appreciate all the things that is been stated in here and then now they wanted me to organize such event when we will be having our vacation next year in August, 2009. So, can you help me out in such a way that you can give me the details as to where they have to stay cause they will be much more as 20 persons and then of different nationalities. Me as a living residence there in the province of Bohol, i sell the tourism that BOHOL can offer to tourist so thats why i am writing to you is because of this reasons...basically, they wanted the iterinary which somehow i cant do such a thing cause I am here working in the bank then with them and I jsut make a research on the spicemen so thats why they are interested on such matter. So, Hope that you can be able to give me an ample of reasosn to hope for a positive and a glorious respond. Thanks to you and God bless as always.

We went to Bohol last weekend. We had the usual day tour. Then when we arrived in panglao a boatman asked me if we want to go on dolphin watching the next day. In short we agreed, and pay him 1600 for the boat and island hopping in Balicasag. I was very disappointed because we were not able to see even a single tail of dolphin "maalon daw kasi sabi nun jayson (boatman), then we go straight to Balicasag. When I told this to Bohol Divers Hotel receptionist they told me that this is the usual alibi of some boatmen in Panglao, they just don't want to use much of their gasoline, thats why they did not look for a nice spot for dolphin watching.. beware of this kind of people in Bohol.. people there are nice except for that "jayson".

We've watched dolphins with our 1 and 4 years old sons, and they both loved it. However, one thing of concern is the lack of life fests for the smallest children, so had to hold our youngest son constantly. Since I do not organize these trips myself, I give you a quote, but you can be in touch with one of the whale watching operators listed on this site.--Jeroen.

Hi, how much will it cost to experience whale/dolphin watching? We are planing to go to Bohol this coming April. Thanks.

This much depends on the number of passengers, as you'll have to pay for the boat--the more people, the cheaper. Count on over PHP 3000 if travelling alone, but PHP 1000 or less per head if travelling with a group of 10.--Jeroen.

With only 2 days to spare and limited budget, where and what do I do to maximize my visit? I am planning a sidetrip to Bohol from a ministry trip in Cagayan de Oro City sometime in May 2005.

I have never seen such an informative, pro-active and up-to-date website. One of the very few excellent and commendable websites I have seen. Do you also have a similar website for Dumaguete? We are going to Bohol on 24 August 2005 for 5 days. Do you think we could experience dolphin watching? What is the weather condition like at this time? Thank you for your response.

The Pamilacan Island Whale & Dolphin Watching Organization (PIDWWO) is the only community-based whale and dolphin watching organization accredited by the Inter-Agency Task Force for Marine Mammal Conservation of the Philippines and the Department of Tourism. The members were trained by personnel from the World Wide Fund for Nature Philippines in running a whale and dolphin ecotourism program. Pia V. is right check them out.

My wife and I had the opportunity to watch the dolphins of Pamilacan last April 2004. We went home coming from USA for family re-union in Garcia-Hernandez, Bohol. They are amazing mammals. They flipped, jumped and make tantalizing squeezing sounds. They seem to be happy and contented to the place where they can swim freely in an environment free from pollution. We do hope that the dolphins remain free and protected for all generations.

I think there is another group in Pamilacan that is catering to the dolphin and whale watching activity. it's the pamilacan island dolphin and whale watching organization. pidwwo, a registered people's organization, has members that are competent and skilled to tour visitors around pamilacan and its waters. You better try it as soon as possible.

We were at the Bohol Beach Club last week and booked a dive/dolphin watch trip through the resort. We got up 6 am for the boat ride on mirror-like calm seas . About 45 minutes out in the water a whole bunch of dolphins popped out of the deep blue! Amazing! They swam round and round the banca, doing grand jetes, spinning, truly a wonderful sight! Then they brought us out to Balicasag where I was able to go about 7 meters underwater before succumbing to earaches. The boys went further out, about 14 m. and said the view of the reef and the ledge was really memorable. Now if only we can convince the Mrs to go back...

This website is fantastic. Excellent job. When I was eleven years old, I went with my father, who was the School District Supervisor of Baclayon and Alburquerque District, to attend the inaugauration of the opening of their primary school in Pamilacan Island. I really like the place and I plan to visit this island in my next trip to the Philippines. The information in your website is an excellent guide to visit this island.

My Dad is from Bohol, and every year I make it a point to go back. This year was the first in so many years that I have not (yet) gone. Some of my officemates have been there and they love it-- everything! the views, the culture, the people, the food. too bad we couldn't go whale watching then because of the steep price. My brother went this summer, with a friend, and they were lucky to find dolphins, but the spotter was medyo tamad daw, brother ko pa daw ang nagtuturo. But the pamilacan beach is stunning, judging from their pics! hope to get there sometime, hopefully next year, with my new husband!

Interesting article. It's fantastic work that's being done to support the dolphins and the people who depend on them for their livelihood. We enjoyed our dolphin watch with Jojo, Frank and Monney. Had a great meal and a sing song with the people of Pamilacan. It's a beautiful area and we are looking forward to our next trip. Thanks to all who made it such a great experience.

We are glad you also enjoyed the trip. We certainly did! -- Jeroen.

Thanks for this information, I've been to Bohol just last month but after reading this, I can't wait to go back again! Hindi ba nakakatakot mag whale watch? what are the safety measures during the tour?

Whale and dolphin watching is not dangerous, but for those who cannot swim, lifejackets are available. -- Jeroen.
