The first computers collected from various companies and individuals in the Netherlands arrived at schools in Bohol in September 2003. Now they have started their second life and are being used for various school activities, teaching pupils on the use of computers, etc.
Thanks a lot to all the people who donated computers and other equipment, and to Flora and Robert Schuyt, of Hol-Phil Trading, who donated the shipping of these computers from the Netherlands to Bohol. Without them this wouldn't have been possible.
First computers installed at a school library in Loon, Bohol.
Here you can still see the boxes in which they were send in the right corner.
Here is the computer set-up donated to the Pamilacan Island Dolphin and Whale Watching Organisation. From left to right: Nazario Valeroso, Teodoro Miculob, and Chairman Maximiniano Valeroso. Their organisation tries to employ former whalehunters as tourist guides, such that they can use their skills in for the protection of their former prey.

The Computer project for Bohol schools is a God given idea from a very honorable organization. To the officer's, members, donors and prospective donors, word is not enough to say thanks to all of you. Keep up the good work! I am really very proud to be a Boholano and I can offer myself to teach for free for one month during my vacation in Bohol. I came from a poor remote town of Sikatuna and I wish that you consider donating a computer at the Sikatuna High School. I am more than willing to teach them on Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Browzing, Outlook, Access and Project. Thanks and God Bless!!! |

Its good to know that computerization of Bohol school institution will pave the way for a new level of literacy amongst my fellow natives of Bohol, I hope they will stretch a little more hand to those in remote places such as Tausion, Valencia Bohol whom my humble birth place. Truly a milestone of hope to modernize this God given island of the Philippines. As a System Developer/Analyst of Makati I am proud to be born on that little paradise here in the Phils. |
