Rebuilding Bohol: Project Kamalig

IJsselstein, Sunday, 8 December 2013 05:03:46

The people of Bohol are rebuilding, with whatever means available.

Project Kamalig ("shelter") is one initiative by a group of local volunteers, who want to support the families who lost their homes due to the October 15, 2013 earthquake in Bohol. Many of these also lost their source of livelihood, and have very little income, and thus forced to remain living in makeshift tents.

The Relieve Assistance Volunteers have designed a very low cost start-up house, which can be build for as little as 15.000 pesos (USD 345, EUR 250), and can be build in 3 to 4 days, given fair weather and enough people.

They can use your support in this work. For more information, visit their Facebook page.

Here are some pictures of the work they are delivering.
