What's all the fuss about Jan Alfred "Jerber" Mercado sexy photos circulating in the web?
There are tsismis that nude photos of Jerber are feasted in the internet. Actually, the tsismis is a false alarm. Sorry, we could not find nude and other not too prim and proper photos of Jerber in the Internet.
The sexy photos are part of publicity to launch Jerber as a young actor in Manila. The pictorial was done by celebrity photographer Dan Santos and creative styling and direction by indie film director Mark Shandii Bacolod, who is also Jerber's manager.
"What you see is what you get, meaning that is Jerber au naturel!" said VRS (Very Reliable Source, who is "giggling with excitement" from Manila).
What made, rather who convinced, the "shy" and sometimes withdrawn Jerber to pose half-bare-it-all?
"Actually, Jerber is a model. The role calls for it. Well, if you have it, flaunt it di bah?!" said VRS.
Does Jerber now a sex symbol?
"Honestly?" Bienna Ursula Bautista laughed. "He's appealing and sexy." Bienna just saw the photos for the first time in his Facebook account. The two are friends during their modeling days. "I have not seen Jerber for a long time," Bienna quipped.
"You know what Leo, humidity is rising and barometer is getting low!" VRS commented.
So how did Jerber develop a body-to-die-for which now competes for attention among young actors, Facebookers, talent scouts and producers?
It took Jerber months to prepare for the pictorial. "He went on a diet," revealed VRS. He also worked out more often than he used to and at the same time he also attending workshops to develop his skills in acting," VRS added.
Jerber stayed in Manila for months to pursue his acting and modeling career. He did a cameo appearance for "Pendong" which will be shown in SM Cinemas on June 23. "Pendong" is topbilled by Alwyn Uytingco, Felix Roco, and Will Devaughn. Another Boholana actress and performer Lailette Geulen-Boiser plays tomboy mechanic in the film.
"Pendong'' is directed by Sean Lim for Oxin Entertainment Production (producers of the successful ''Xenoa'' indie-film). It will premiere at the SM Mall of Asia on June 20 which coincides with World's Volkswagen Day and Father's Day. It's regular run starts June 25 in SM Digital Cinemas.
Did Jerber have any acting experience back in Bohol? Yes! He had an appearance in Nandito Ako... Nagmamahal Sa 'Yo in 2009.
"I have this conviction that Jerber can be a fine young actor in the Philippines. He has the body, looks and talent," said VRS.
In fact, Jerber will have a starring role in a new indie film to be directed by Shandii Bacolod. "Jerber will be cast on Taxicab where he is the bida!" announced VRS.
It can be noted that the Prince of Indie actor Coco Martin started his career in indie films until he was given the chance in mainstream film.
Great things start with small beginnings, right?
Bohol's internet princess Leah Tirol-Magno doesn't feel burned out despite her busy schedule. See, when you check her Facebook account, she is there updating her status. She is also giving updates on the growth and development of her only grandchild Babam, that makes Leah a super lola. By the way, Babam has just celebrated her birthday. Read on:
Last June 3, Athalia Jezka Karielle, Babam for everyone, turned two with a Mickey/Minnie Mouse themed party at the JJ's Seafood Village main hall. The venue was turned into a colorful party zone adorned with a lot of balloons.
The party was attended by more than 300 guests composed of the - the Lim, Tirol and Magno families, ninangs, ninongs, kids and friends.
The kids had so much fun during the children's party portion hosted by teachers Nena and Jack of the Victoriano D. Tirol Advanced Learning Center where Babam will go for her Toddlers' Class starting middle of this month.
Aside from enjoying the foods and games during the party, the children were also treated to a lot of Mickey/Minnie mouse give-away items. The presence of Mickey Mouse mascots also added amusement to the kids.
The birthday blessing and prayer was done by no less than the great-grand-father of Babam, former Bohol governor Atty. David B. Tirol.
Annabellle Caturza, wife of Jun Caturza, owners of JJ's Seafood Village came to the venue and commented that it was their first time to have an event at their restaurant for a birthday party this pretty.
Party design concepts was done by Babam's loving grandmother Leah Tirol-Magno and Interior Designer Arizza Nancy Jule Tirol, who were happy and proud that a lot of guests said that it was very pretty. Both are now thinking of starting a business on designing theme parties.
Although Babam's mommy Amalia Karla Loise , Am-am or Karla for everyone, missed the party because she is still presently in the US, Babam's daddy Tsino Lim happily entertained the party guests composed of the "who's-who" of Tagbilaran City, and also guests from Manila and Cebu. Mommy Am-am created and sent a touching video file that made some guests teary-eyed, which was also shown during the party.
The proud grandmothers of Babam, Baby Yap-Lim and Leah were both busy entertaining friends and family who came to Babam's party.
